We are very sorry to share the news that in late May, Ramsey County Master Gardener volunteers Emma Porter and her partner husband Troy Sabean were killed in a car accident while attending a family reunion.
Emma Porter joined RCMG as an intern in 2021.

For those who would like to share memories and moments as Master Gardener volunteers working with these two lovely young people, please join us in celebrating their lives and passions on October 6 from 1-2 pm at the Roseville Muriel Sahlin Arboretum. RCMG will be sponsoring the planting of 3 Smooth Serviceberries in their memory near Lilac Hill along with an arboretum-style memorial sign, the text of which is to be provided by their families. Several volunteers who worked with both of them are working on a dedication event after the planting is in place.
A sign-up will be sent to all volunteers; please add your name if you plan to join so that we know who to contact in case of rescheduling due to bad weather. Please feel free to attend even if you don't sign up ahead of time.
